BREAKING: MEGALOMANIA! Trump fixates on golden monument to himself while Americans struggle with soaring prices and an illegal war.

In yet another example of Donald Trump’s profound narcissism, the self-aggrandizing president spent Friday unveiling plans for a 250-foot gold arch he wants to build near Arlington National Cemetery to commemorate himself.
This at a time when American families are paying over $4 for gas, oil is at $100 a barrel, and U.S. troops are being shot out of the sky over Iran.
The official renderings of Trump's "Triumphal Arch" — submitted to the Commission of Fine Arts on the same day inflation data showed prices soaring and gas posting its largest single-month jump ever — show a massive white structure dripping in gold leafing, emblazoned with the words "One Nation Under God" in gold lettering, topped with a golden winged Lady Liberty flanked by two golden eagles, and guarded by four large golden lions.
The design calls for the arch to reach 250 feet tall. The Lincoln Memorial is 99 feet tall. Trump's arch would dwarf it — which is, of course, entirely the point.
This monument to ego would be built in Memorial Circle, right next to Arlington National Cemetery — where the veterans Trump has sent to die in unauthorized his unauthorized Iran war will likely be buried. A group of Vietnam War veterans has already sued to stop it, calling it a "vanity project" that would destroy the carefully designed historic sightline between Arlington House and the Lincoln Memorial. When asked about the lawsuit this week, Trump's response was: "You gotta be kidding."
The man who sent American troops into Iran without a congressional vote, who has been hiding their casualty figures, who calls their equipment expendable, and has shown no interest in the lives and safety of our armed forces is building a gold arch next to their graves and complaining that veterans have the nerve to object.
And guess who is going to pay for this monstrosity? The Trump administration confirmed this week that $15 million in taxpayer funds — including $2 million from the National Endowment for the Humanities and $13 million in matching funds — are being reserved for the project. The same National Endowment for the Humanities that DOGE has virtually gutted. The same taxpayer money that couldn't fund TSA workers' paychecks. That money is going to gold leaf.
Trump has been obsessed with this arch since at least last October, when a model of it appeared on the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. He has bragged that it will make the Arc de Triomphe in Paris look small. He has stacked the Commission of Fine Arts with loyalists who will approve it. He is building his monument — to himself, in gold, next to Arlington Cemetery — and he is making American taxpayers fund it while the economy he broke makes their lives harder every single day.
One nation under God. Four golden lions. Two golden eagles. Two hundred and fifty feet of pure, taxpayer-funded narcissism. All while gas is $4 a gallon.
Please like and share this post if you think a president fighting an unauthorized war and watching inflation soar probably shouldn't be spending $15 million in taxpayer money on a gold arch named after himself.
