Ingredients
- 1 package Maria-style cookies
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 1 package cream cheese (190 g)
- 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cold
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee (optional, for stronger flavor)
- Cocoa powder or grated chocolate, for decoration
Preparation
1. Make the coffee cream
Blend the condensed milk, evaporated milk, cream cheese, vanilla, and cold brewed coffee until smooth and creamy. If you want a stronger coffee flavor, add the instant coffee and blend again.
2. Dip the cookies
Lightly dip the Maria cookies in a little coffee. Do it quickly so they do not break apart.
3. Build the layers
Place a layer of dipped cookies in a baking dish or glass dish. Add a layer of the coffee cream mixture on top.
4. Repeat
Continue layering cookies and cream until all the ingredients are used. Finish with a layer of cream on top.
5. Chill
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, though it is even better if left overnight.
6. Decorate
Before serving, sprinkle the top with cocoa powder or grated chocolate.
Tips
- Add a layer of melted chocolate between the layers for an even richer dessert.
- If you like tiramisu-style flavor, add a splash of coffee liqueur.
- The longer it rests, the better the flavor and texture become.
This Coffee Carlota is creamy, smooth, and packed with coffee flavor, making it a perfect dessert for gatherings or anytime you want something sweet and elegant without baking.
